VIDEO: Bastian Schweinsteiger got a wonderful welcome from Man United fans on his debut
Bastian Schweinsteiger received a wonderful welcome at Old Trafford from Manchester United fans on Saturday, as the club started their season with a 1-0 win over Tottenham.
The 31-year-old replaced Michael Carrick in the 53rd minute as the German World Cup winner made his Premier League bow.
He also picked up a booking on his debut.
Schweinsteiger warmed up down the touchline at the Theatre of Dreams and the Man United fans publicly welcomed the midfielder with a huge applause from the stands.
Apart from the German, former England and Man United defender Rio Ferdinand also received a large round of applause from fans before the Spurs game started.
