When Didier Drogba left in the year 2012, there were requests from certain quarters to retire his shirt number, the number eleven, in order to respect what the forward had done for club.

Alexandre Pato set to follow in Drogba’s famous footsteps with No.11 shirt at Chelsea
However, that shirt number went to young Oscar who had just arrived at the club. Oscar currently wears another Legend's shirt number, the number 8 which earlier belonged to Frank Lampard. Now, it seems Pato, who arrived in London on loan from Corinthians, would get the opportunity to wear the famous number 11.

It certainly is a huge burden wearing the number of a player who is a legend at the club. Depay at United would be feeling similar pressure wearing the shirt number 7.

At the moment, however, Chelsea fans would hope that Pato could emulate their idol or even close to what he has done.

The forward was not able to participate in the FA cup win against MK Dons but is very much in contention to be a part of the Premier League clash that Chelsea are due to play against Watford in mid week.

Pato would certainly realize that his current spell at Chelsea may well be his last opportunity to prove to the footballing world about his talent which certainly has not blossomed after an early promise in his career. Fail here and he may have to move back to his native with Europe then being a distant memory.

According to recent reports, it is believed that Didier Drogba may make another return to Chelsea, although this time as an assistant to Guus Hiddink. It is certainly good news for Chelsea fans who had recently seen the duo spend time with owner Roman Abramovich in the match against Sunderland.

Didier Drogba
It has been reported that the Chelsea legend who currently plays for Montreal Impact may end his contract and move to London to become a part of Chelsea's backroom staff. It will definitely be a lift for the current squad given the belief that Drogba was certainly one of the strongest figures in the dressing room last season when Chelsea won the title.

The optimism around Stamford Bridge has certainly been visible on the pitch with the team unbeaten for four games having comfortably beaten high flying Crystal Palace in their last game. Hiddink would certainly love the presence of Drogba in his staff with the Dutch manager previously stating the importance of Drogba as an ambassador for the club.

Although nothing has been confirmed from either side, there is a strong belief that the Ivory Coast international would retire from his playing career and pursue the role of an assistant to Guus Hiddink.

The West London club has ignited interest in bringing back the club legend Didier Drogba in a coaching capacity.  Montreal Impact where Drogba works currently, revealed through a string of tweets that Drogba and his former club are having talks regarding the possible return of the striker.

Hiddink wants Drogba to be Chelsea assistant coach
The speculations for the return of Drogba to London have heated up as he was seen with current Chelsea coach, Guus Hiddinck during Chelsea's match against Sunderland, last week.

The Ivorian left Chelsea in 2012, after ending the association with the London club over 8 trophy laden years, and returned to the club last season for a short spell of one year. After making 28 appearances for the club last season, Drogba bid farewell to his favourite club to join Montreal Impact in June.

However, the club itself revealed that Drogba and Chelsea are in advanced talks. Drogba is in superb form for the MLS club, scoring twelve goals in as many regular appearances for the club. The MLS side acknowledged the attachment  Drogba has towards his former club, but also stated their wish to see him at Montreal in 2016.

Since there are no league games this week, John Terry dedicated his time doing charity. He decided to spend his spare time helping an organization raise money for a good cause.

John Terry
The initiative, called Shoot For Love is a charity campaign for child cancer.

The Chelsea skipper had to shoot on to a huge bullseye and each shot would raise donation, depending on where the ball hits.

After completing his 10 shots, Terry also nominated his ex-teammates Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard. He also nominated former Liverpool skipper and England teammate Steven Gerrard.

During this transfer window Chelsea have brought in some good quality players and this blog is where I will make a judgement on whether or not I believe that they are good enough to succeed at the club.

    Diego Costa:

Diego Costa
The man who knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League last season. He has proved that he can score at a top level, he has also proved that he can use his strength to his advantage. To me Costa is a Drogba like player, a player that is great in the air and can use his strength to hold up the play and create a chance. He proved on Monday that he has the ability to score in the league. He to me is the complete striker, someone who can hold up play, cross the ball, find space and most importantly score.

    Cesc Fabregas:

Cesc Fabregas
The ex Arsenal and Barca midfielder proved throughout pre season and Monday night that he was a very worthy investment. The midfield genius seemed to control every move that Chelsea made. He was an easy choice for the Man of the Match award and this was supported by the assist he was given by André Schürrle’s superb goal. Fabregas has been able to take on all the responsibility left behind after Frank Lampard departed. He has come in and has taken complete control of the midfield and shown that he is the man to lead every attack.

    Felipe Luis:

Felipe Luis
The left back has arrived on the back of some very good performances for Atletico. There is of course a debate on whether he is needed or whether Azpilicueta is good enough to play every game at left back. either way Luis has arrived and looks ready to fight for the left back position with all his heart. He is able to get up and down the wing with no difficultly and appears to be as solid as Cole was in his prime. Luis has already shown in pre season that he is already comfortable with the way that Chelsea play and has good link up down that left side. He has yet to play in the league but I am certain that it should not be long till we see him in the league.

    Dider Drogba:

Dider Drogba
The legend has returned. The man who won Chelsea the Champions League in 2012 has returned to the club and brought back so many memories for the fans. Granted he has lost pace but he seems to still have the strength and determination that has also been with him throughout his Chelsea career. This no doubt will drive him on through the  season and I can see him hitting at lest 10 goals and playing either up front with Costa or coming in to replace him. I do not believe that Jose will just use in every 5 games or so.
