It seems current Bayern Munich manager Guardiola has already started to make plans for his City squad. Pep Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and take the reigns at the Etihad from next season.

Manchester City submitted a €50m bid for Granit Xhaka according to German reports.
There have been reports stating the former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola has asked the City management to buy Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Guardiola has observed the Swiss International in the Bundesliga and believes the Gladbach midfielder can be the right defensive midfielder that Guardiola would need with respect to his style of play.

Yaya Toure may be leaving the Citizens at the end of the season and although City have Fernandinho as their key defensive midfielder, Guardiola rates Xhaka very highly and wants his future employers to go all out for him.

Xhaka has been in fine form for the Bundesliga side and has been linked with various Premier league clubs a few times this season.

The Swiss International has been tracked by the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal but it seems that a City offer of around €50 million may put them right in the driver's seat with respect to the Gladbach midfielder's signature.
