It has been reported that Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter has been tracked by European heavyweights Chelsea and Juventus. Dortmund are enjoying a good season under new manager Tuchel and Ginter has certainly played an important role for the German side this season..

Chelsea enter the race for Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter.
It seems that the Bundesliga club are expecting a fee of around £13 million for the defender. Ginter can play at both right back and centre back positions and has shown his versatility at his present club.

Dortmund had signed Ginter in the summer of 2014 with the club stating that the German defender was one of the most talented and promising prospects. Ginter has been a revelation for Dortmund this season and much of the credit has been given to the new manager Tuchel's tactics.

Chelsea have also been showing interest in Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal for the right back and John Stones for centre back. However, it seems that for £13 million, Ginter may prove a cheaper alternative for the west London club.

The deal may not happen in the current January transfer window since it almost drawing to a close. However, if the player performs at the current level, it is deemed as a good possibility that the deal may happen in the summer.
