Bite marks on Chiellini's shoulder after the incident

According to John Carew, the former Aston Villa Striker, Luis Suarez is ‘sick’ and ‘needs help’.

The Uruguayan striker has been banned from all kinds of football activity for four months after he bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini. It is for the third time he has been punished for sinking his teeth into an opponent.

Carew expresses his confusion that he cannot understand why the Uruguayan would do something like that and says the time has come for him to face his demons.

The former Aston Villa striker believes that the Liverpool striker needs help and is sick. No one can do what he is doing without having some kind of problem. He also said that he had never seen anything that stupid. According to Carew, not even the craziest and the most aggressive footballer in the world would do something this stupid, that too for the third time.

Liverpool are yet to make any concrete comment about the suspension that has ruled their star player out of domestic football until November. Interest from Spain for the player prior to this latest case is also something the club would b ready to consider.

Luis Suarez has been accused and charged for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini

Luis Suarez has been charged with biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during their World Cup match on Tuesday. If found guilty, Suarez may face a ban for up to 2 years. Making it worse, according to the FIFA rules, the ban may not only just apply to the International games but also on the domestic games. This would come as a big blow to Liverpool if such a penalty is imposed.

The decision will be made before Saturday, when Uruguay face Colombia in a Round of 16 match.

HERE ARE THE RULES: RELEVANT CLAUSES OF FIFA'S DISCIPLINARY CODE

Suárez is alleged to have breached articles 48 and/or 57 of the Fifa Disciplinary Code. Article 136 explains how he could be banned from all football matches

48 - MISCONDUCT AGAINST OPPONENTS OR PERSONS OTHER THAN MATCH OFFICIALS
(1) Including the automatic suspension incurred in accordance with art. 18 par. 4, any recipient of a direct red card shall be suspended as follows:
a) one match for denying the opposing team a clear goal-scoring opportunity (particularly by deliberately handling the ball);
b) at least one match for serious foul play (particularly in the case of excessive or brute force);
c) at least one match for unsporting conduct towards an opponent or a person other than a match official (subject to art. 53, 54 and 57-60);
d) at least two matches for assaulting (elbowing, punching, kicking etc.) an opponent or a person other than a match official;
e) at least six matches for spitting at an opponent or a person other than a match official.
(2) A fine may also be imposed in all cases.
(3) The right is reserved to punish an infringement in accordance with art. 77 a).

57 - OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOUR AND FAIR PLAY
Anyone who insults someone in any way, especially by using offensive gestures or language, or who violates the principles of fair play or whose behaviour is unsporting in any other way may be subject to sanctions in accordance with art. 10 ff.

136 - REQUEST
(1) If the infringement is serious, in particular but not limited to doping (cf. art. 63), unlawfully infl uencing match results (cf. art. 69), misconduct against match officials (cf. art. 49), forgery and falsification (cf. art. 61) or violation of the rules governing age limits (cf. art. 68 a), the associations, confederations, and other organising sports bodies shall request Fifa to extend the sanctions they have imposed so as to have worldwide effect.
(2) Any doping-related legally binding sanction imposed by another international sports association, national anti-doping organisation or any other state body that complies with fundamental legal principles shall automatically be adopted by Fifa and, provided that the requirements described hereunder are met, may in principle be extended by Fifa to have worldwide effect.
(3) The request shall be submitted in writing and enclose a certified copy matching the decision. It shall show the name and address of the person who has been sanctioned and that of the club and the association concerned.
(4) If the judicial bodies of Fifa discover that associations, confederations and other sports organisations have not requested a decision to be extended to have worldwide effect, these bodies may themselves pass a decision.

Costa Rica surprised Uruguay by defeating them in their first game of the World Cup 2014. Costa Rica is thought to have the least chance of going through the next round from the Group of Death that is World Cup group D.

Uruguay underestimated Costa Rica and learnt their lesson in the hard way in their campaign, losing 3-1. Uruguay took the lead by Edinson Cavani penalty in 24th minute, after Diego Lugano was brought down. After the goal, Uruguay seemed to be in a very stable position.

Costa Rica took their time to score the equalizer, which came in the 54th minute with a shot that completely froze goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, scored by Arsenal striker Joel Campbell.

Before Uruguay could realize what had happened, Costa Rica scored their second goal with a low header from Oscar Duarte just three minutes later.

This was not enough to spoil the day for 2011 Copa America winners. Defender Maxi Pereira was shown a straight red during the injury time for kicking Campbell.

Marco Urena celebrates his goal,  third goal for Costa Rica

This is the first time that Costa Rica have scored 3 goals in a World Cup match and the first time since 2002 that they have won a game in the tournament. For sure now, Costa Rica cannot be taken lightly, specially when the group has all big name teams competing to go through the next round.
