It seems Manchester United are very much tracking Benfica's highly rated midfielder Renato Sanches and want to sign the young midfielder in the summer.

Manchester United are 'working hard' to tie up a deal to sign highly-rated Benfica youngster Renato Sanches.
Sanches has been linked with the Manchester club throughout the season and it seems the Old Trafford outfit are very much keen to make the deal happen in the next transfer window. However, the young 18 year old will not come for a small amount and apparently an astounding transfer fee of around £46 million has been discussed.

The fact that United may fail in their quest to qualify for the Champions league may not hinder the sale according to United manager Louis Van Gaal. United paid in the region of around £36 million to land young striker Martial last season.

Although it was considered a gamble at that time, the signing has proved to be a successful one up to now. However, with the future of the club under uncertainty along with the future of the manager, it seems a huge gamble putting such an amount of money on a young inexperienced midfielder.

Louis Van Gaal has been lauded this season with respect to giving chances to youngsters but the fact that his future itself remains in doubt may have an effect on the decision of this sale.
