Nacho Monreal rewarded with new contract
Arsenal full back Nacho Monreal has signed a new contract with the club to put an end to the rumors linking him with a move to Athletic Bilbao.
The 29 year old was offered a deal by Arsenal last month and after some negotiations, he has finally signed the new deal which will keep him at Emirates. Monreal has now usurped Kieran Gibbs' position as the first choice left back for the club and has not missed a single minute of this year's league campaign.

Monreal joined Arsenal from Malaga in 2013 but struggled to cement his place in the team initially. But a run of consistent performances have seen him seal his spot and he even looks like one of the best left backs in England at the moment. The Spaniard has been consistent all season for the Gunners and has become a fan favorite at the Emirates.
He was linked with a move back to Spain in the summer, with Bilbao looking to take him back to his home country but a move failed to materialize.
Monreal's previous deal was due to expire in 2017 and this new deal is reported to keep him at the club for one more season.
