West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet has been in outstanding form for the London club this season. It seems that his impressive performances for the Hammers has led teams to keep a track of him.

Chelsea are interested in West Ham's Dimitri Payet

Apparently, Premier league champions Chelsea are interested in the former Marseille midfielder. Payet joined West Ham last summer from Marseille and has been quite good for the hammers.

The midfielder recently stated about his happiness of having joined West Ham and playing in the Premier league. He stated that when he moved to West Ham, people felt that it was only for the money but his rise in the Premier league has earned him global recognition and has made him a known quantity with respect to his football.

The West Ham management has realized that the France International is attracting interest and is looking to extend his contract. In his current contract, Payet earns around £70,000 per week.

It won’t be a surprise if the France International wishes to move to a Premier league giant if the right offer arrives. Payet has certainly made West Ham a considerable force this season with the club looking to finish in the top four.

Slaven Bilic replaced Sam Allardyce and has made West Ham a top four challenger defying all odds. He would certainly not want one of his star midfielders to leave the club.

Dimitri Payet was delighted to have a song in his name after the match against Crystal Palace. The French attacking midfielder said that he was touched to hear the fans chanting a song with his name after the game.

Payet has been instrumental in West Ham's successes so far this season and the Hammers currently lie fourth in the league table. After joining the team this summer, Payet has been pulling the attacking strings for his new club and he has already become a fan favorite.

The fans have now made a song for him which says he is better than Zidane.

Payet said that he never got such a response from France and that it touched him to hear the fans singing his name. Payet was moved by the affection shown by the fans and said that he wanted to thank the fans for that.

Payet was also flattered to hear him being compared to Zidane in the song, and said that it was great to even be compared to Zidane.

The 28 year old now will face Chelsea on Saturday and will be looking to face his previous teammate Eden Hazard. Both of them spent a year together at Lille and Payet is looking forward to playing against Hazard, for whom he has great praise for.

Payet said that Hazard has enough quality to get through this blip and that in years to come he is going to be as good as Cristiano and Messi.
