According to agent Dario Canovi, it has been stated that Serie A giants Inter Milan were very much interested in signing their former player Thiago Motta.

Agent: Inter Milan were desperate for PSG veteran Thiago Motta
Motta, a former Inter player, is renowned for his slick passing and ball retention qualities. He was instrumental in their Champions league victory in 2010 where he was an orchestrator of Mourinho's side. Motta was sent off in the semi-final, which made him miss the final against Bayern Munich.

However, Inter failed in their pursuit of bringing back their former player to the San Siro last summer. Inter started well this season in their quest for the Scudetto but failed to keep up to a much improved Juventus side, who claimed their fifth consecutive crown.

Canovi stated that if Inter were successful in signing Motta last season, they would have been a serious threat to Juventus this season. Motta has been outstanding for PSG this season, although his injury in the quarter finals of the Champions league was vital to them being ousted from the competition by Manchester City.

Canovi believes that Motta is a very intelligent player and can be a good coach once he hangs up his boots.

It has been reported that PSG defender Thiago Silva wants a move out of the club and join Champions league winners Barcelona.

Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva wants to join Barcelona this summer.
Brazilian International Silva joined the club with an aim to win the much coveted Champions league. The owners of the club had a five year project in order to achieve the mission of the Champions league in which, the current season is the fifth year.

Although the team has been brilliant domestically, the club has failed to move past the quarterfinals of the Champions league on the last four occasions. This has concerned several key players like Silva, who believe their dream of winning Europe's most prestigious competition may not be achieved at PSG.

Hence, there have been reports suggesting that the Brazilian International would like to join the Catalans. Silva has been tracked by Barcelona over several seasons but the move never materialized.

With the future of the manager along with the contracts of several players facing uncertainty, the former Milan defender believes that this is the right time to move on.

It seems former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is not deprived of options when it comes to be appointed as manager of a new club, not that there was any doubt with respect to that.

PSG in talks with José Mourinho's representatives but no offer made yet
Apparently, French champions PSG are very much interested in appointing the Portuguese as their manager for next season. PSG were knocked out in the quarterfinals of the Champions league by Manchester City and it seems the owners were very disappointed by the same.

They desperately want the club to be considered as a major force to be reckoned with in European football. However, Laurent Blanc has failed to take the club beyond the quarterfinals of the most elite European club competition.

The management wants Mourinho because of his success in the Champions league having won it twice, with Porto and Inter Milan. Although the former Real Madrid manager is very much linked with the job at Manchester United, Mourinho would consider this job if the United one fails to materialize.

Although the Portuguese wants to stay in England, Mourinho certainly regards PSG as one of the biggest clubs in Europe and is inclined towards the job if United do not consider him.

It seems PSG are very much interested in signing Atletico Madrid's star striker Antoine Griezmann.

PSG willing to meet Griezmann buyout clause in Atletico Madrid deal
The French champions were bitterly disappointed when they were knocked out of the Champions league in the quarterfinal stage by Manchester City. PSG had a very easy season in their league winning the title with around nine games to spare.

However, Laurent Blanc and his men would surely know that they would still be regarded as underachievers this season due to the failure in the Champions league. The addition of Angel Di Maria last season surely made the French giants a formidable side but it seems the Ligue 1 champions would stop at nothing for next season.

PSG are reportedly ready to meet Atletico Madrid's inform striker Antoine Greizmann's buyout clause of around €80 million. Although PSG are ready to meet the buyout clause, the fact that the striker not too long ago stated that he is happy at the club may be a deterrent to their plans.

However, with the departure of star striker Ibrahimovic very much on the cards, another big name striker is what they are looking for and the French star has been identified as the ideal option.

There are certainly no shortage of admirers for the cocky Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish International has found another one in Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata would like to play with Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Mata stated that he would like to play with very good players like Zlatan and would want him to join United in the summer. Ibrahimovic's contract with PSG is currently expiring in this summer and there have been speculations that the star striker may join Manchester United.

The PSG striker has played in all the major European leagues which includes the likes of Spain, France, Netherlands and Italy. However, the star front man is still yet to play for a Premier league club. With Mourinho very much the favorite to take over at United, it is a possibility that Ibrahimovic may join his former boss at Old Trafford.

Ibrahimovic played under Mourinho at Inter Milan and is a huge admirer of the Portuguese boss. Hence, if Mourinho indeed joins United, it can happen that the former Barcelona striker may join the Portuguese.

Mata has stated that he obviously does not know where the Swedish International, who has played in other European leagues, would end up in the summer but feels it would be great if he joins United after his contract ends with PSG.

It seems Brazilian star Lucas Moura is very much being tracked by the Premier league club Liverpool, who are looking to sign the PSG winger in the summer.

Liverpool have reportedly sent scouts to watch PSG winger Lucas Moura.
Liverpool under Klopp are certainly looking to rebuild the squad and the management feels that the Brazilian winger could be a great addition to the squad. It has been reported that the 23 year old was watched by Liverpool scouts in the recent Champions league when PSG played Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Moura certainly might have impressed the Liverpool scouts with his good performance in the Chelsea game. The Brazilian had stated his intent of playing in the Premier league sometime in his career. However, the PSG winger is happy to be a part of the project being built in the French capital.

Moura was very much tracked by United before his move to PSG. The Brazilian was also recently linked with the Red Devils. However, it seems Liverpool are more interested in bringing the 23 year old to Anfield.

It seems PSG defender Marquinhos wants to play in the Premier league at some point of time in his career. The former Roma defender has admitted to the fact that he would like to play in England if the right opportunity comes in.

Marquinhos "Every single player dreams of playing in the Premier League one day. I’m no different"
Marquinhos was very heavily linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United last summer. When Chelsea failed in their pursuit of John Stones, Mourinho was very much interested in signing the Brazilian defender.

However, any bids were rebuffed by PSG, who were not interested in selling their star centre back. The Brazilian centre-back, ahead of the round of 16 Champions league tie against Chelsea, stated that he does not follow any English club in particular but likes the Premier league.

He also added that he is currently focused on his career with his present team PSG but his admittance of wanting to play in the Premier league would certainly be good news for various Premier league clubs.

Chelsea and PSG would be meeting each other for the second leg of the last 16 tie in the Champions league and it seems a huge meeting with respect to a swap deal involving their star strikers would be discussed thereafter.

Chelsea plot stunning striker swap deal for South American goal machine.
The two clubs have been pitted against each other in the competition for the last three seasons and it seems this time, apart from a battle on the field, there would be vital discussion off the field too.

It seems both the clubs would be looking to have an exchange deal involving Diego Costa and Edinson Cavani. Cavani is very much liked by Antonio Conte, who is reported to be announced as the next Chelsea manager in this month.

On the other hand, although Costa has been in superb form following the arrival of Interim manager Guus Hiddink, it seems the Spanish International is not happy with his stay in London. The former Atletico Madrid striker is seen as a replacement for PSG's star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Sweden International will most likely leave the club in the summer and the French giants consider the current Chelsea striker Costa as the perfect replacement. There have been reports that talks would start this week regarding this striker deal.

It seems that PSG striker Edinson Cavani is very much wanted by the Premier league champions and is one of their top priorities in the summer.

Edinson Cavani is serious about a move away from PSG in the summer and finds himself on a Chelsea shortlist.
Chelsea have endured a pretty ordinary season by their standards and the club believes that major reshuffling is necessary for the next season. Their main striker Diego Costa was earlier linked with a return to his former club Atletico Madrid but the Spanish International has hit top form under Interim manager Guus Hiddink.

Uruguayan International Cavani has been linked with other Premier league clubs as well including the likes of Manchester United. However, the Blues have asked PSG about the former Napoli striker's availability, whose contract runs till 2018.

Chelsea would certainly have a good look at the striker when he would play against them in the return leg of the Champions league round of 16 at Stamford Bridge. It was the Uruguayan's well taken goal in the first leg, which is currently the difference between the two sides.

Chelsea's Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard had stated on the eve of the Champions league game against PSG that it would be difficult to refuse a move to the French champions if they come calling.

Eden Hazard wants to stay at Chelsea but I do not, says Guus Hiddink
In reaction to Hazard's statement, former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane told that if he was a teammate of the Belgian, he would be kicking him up and down the training pitch. However, Chelsea Interim manager Guus Hiddink believes otherwise.

The Dutchman did not respond to the statement by Roy Keane but felt that the Belgian International is very keen to stay at Stamford Bridge. However, Hiddink stated that he felt Hazard, who was very instrumental in the Premier league title win of Chelsea last season, would certainly need to improve on his form this season.

Hazard has been a shadow of himself in this campaign with injuries certainly not helping the cause of the play maker.

Apart from PSG, Hazard was also linked with Real Madrid earlier in the campaign but Hiddink believes Hazard, who has a contract till 2020, will stay at Chelsea after having admitted to have certain small conversations with the Belgian.

The Dutch man would certainly hope that Hazard, who has been showing some signs of revival off late, would be able to get back to his best as soon as possible.

It seems there is bad news for various European clubs because of the fact that PSG midfielder Marco Verratti has signed a new deal for the French champions.

Marco Verratti has signed a contract extension with PSG, keeping him at the club until 2020.
Verratti has been a mainstay and a key component of the PSG squad under Laurent Blanc. It seems that PSG have realized the interest in their highly rated midfielder Verratti and have successfully tied the player to the club until 2020.

Verratti expressed his delight at extending his contract with PSG and has stated his desire to make the team the best in Europe. The Italian midfielder joined the club in 2012 from Pescara and has been a revelation for the French champions in the last few seasons.

His impressive performances for the club attracted interest from likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester United. In fact, with rumors of his current  Italy manager joining Chelsea, the player was also recently linked with the premier league champions as well.

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has also expressed his happiness in Verratti extending his current deal. He stated that the midfielder has displayed his promise every season and has shown his commitment to the PSG project.

It certainly is a big boost to the club with the French champions certainly heading in the right direction with respect to becoming one of Europe's biggest clubs.

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has been rumored to leave the club next season with the Belgian being far from his best this season for the Blues.

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard says a move to PSG would be 'difficult to turn down.'
Rumors are that the star midfielder is not happy with life at Stamford Bridge and may look for a move abroad. Hazard has been in and out of the team under Hiddink but has shows signs of revival in recent games. However, it was widely reported that he prefers a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid with their manager Zidane a big admirer of the Belgian.

However, it seems, Hazard may find it difficult to even turn down French champions PSG. The star midfielder has been linked with the French giants earlier this season and before the Champions league match on Tuesday between Chelsea and PSG, Hazard stated that it would be difficult to say no to a club which has the capacity to win the Champions league.

He also did not confirm that he would stay at the club next season fueling rumors that he may well leave the club. He added that on the basis of the contract, he would be at the club next season even if the current season has been disappointing.

However, there is always an element of uncertainty in football and the Belgian did not deny the fact that he may leave the Blues at the end of the season.

Former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc has been linked to Manchester United as their next manager.

PSG boss Laurent Blanc signs two-year contract extension with Ligue 1 champions
Although Mourinho is very much tipped to replace Louis Van Gaal, it was considered that the Frenchman Blanc is also in the running for the hot seat. However, it seems that those rumors would now come to an end with the Frenchman extending his deal with PSG until 2018.

Blanc was expectedly quite excited with the signing of the new deal, with the PSG boss stating that he is happy with the faith shown on him by PSG's Qatari owners. He also added that the club is looking forward to the future with them very much ambitious to make it big both nationally and in Europe.

PSG is certainly one of the most supported clubs in France with their global recognition increasing by the day. They have been the French champions for the last three years, out of which the last two were under Blanc. The former France Manager took over the responsibility from Carlo Ancelotti, who had departed to replace Mourinho as Real Madrid manager.

Blanc has certainly done very little wrong domestically with the club winning the domestic treble last season and is very much in the running for the same even in this campaign. Although PSG are certainly considered as a major threat in the Champions league, they still have not been able to hit those dizzy heights yet.

Having signed a new contract. Blanc would certainly look to improve on their Champions league status and their first hurdle this season would the stuttering Premier league champions Chelsea who they beat last season at the same stage of the competition.

It seems that PSG are certainly looking to make a statement of intent to the rest of the footballing world. The French club are on the lookout for a replacement for their departing star Ibrahimovic and it seems that have identified Barcelona superstar Neymar for the same.

PSG are reportedly offering Neymar over £80,000 a day.
PSG are so determined in signing the prolific forward that they are willing to offer a €40 million per year contract to the Brazilian. Neymar has been rumored to be discontent with the tax issues that have been impacting the Barcelona forward's career in Spain. Earlier in the season, his dad also stated that Neymar would be leaving Spain in order to get some respite from these issues that are bothering him.

It seems PSG are looking to take advantage of the situation and are willing to pay big bucks for the same. The Barcelona forward is currently on a €11 million per year contract at the club and the club is willing to offer the former Santos star a hike of €5 million in order to persuade the Brazilian to stay.

However, if PSG go ahead with this offer, it is a possibility that the Brazilian may be tempted to join the French club. PSG are looking to cement their status as a European giant and the signing of Angel Di Maria last season certainly justified their ambition.

If Ibrahimovic does leave, they are very much interested in replacing their Swedish superstar with another big name player in Neymar.

The Champions League draw has thrown some enthralling fixtures for this season's round of 16. The fixtures of the three premier league teams in the knock out stage would be discussed more in detail.

Chelsea are set to face PSG for the third time in a row
The English champions would consider themselves quite unlucky after being drawn against the French champions. Surely, Mourinho would have loved to have an easier draw after winning their group. This is the third time in a row that both these teams would play in the Champions league. PSG beat Chelsea on away goals last season after Chelsea beat them on away goals the season before that. The match certainly promises to be one of the most exciting battles in the round of 16.

Arsenal vs Barcelona:

Arsenal will face the Messi, Neymar, Suarez trio
Arsenal's dramatic escape to the knock out stages has been rewarded by being drawn against the European champions. The Premier league leaders would certainly be worried about the prospect of facing Barcelona's famous MSN. Missing the opportunity the last time out against Monaco, it looks like the trend of not going past the round of 16 is set to continue for the Gunners.

Manchester City vs Dynamo Kiev:

Manchester City will face Dynamo Kiev
Manchester City arguably have the easiest opponents in the round of 16 as compared to their premier league counterparts. They are certainly expected to overcome Kiev and in doing so, they would be the first ‘City’ team in their history to go past the round of 16. Pellegrini would certainly feel they deserved to get such a draw after beating Juventus to the top spot in a difficult looking group. Dynamo had given Chelsea problems in the group stage but City certainly have the firepower to overcome that threat.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of football's biggest superstars and has what is arguably football's biggest ego. It is great to have a certain degree of self confidence as a footballer but Zlatan takes it a notch higher. During his journey from Malmo to PSG, Zlatan has played for the best clubs in the world.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic double send Sweden to Euro 2016
Be it the fact that he told Arsene Wenger that Zlatan does not do trials or his opinion in his autobiography about his former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola being a spineless coward, Zlatan has never been afraid to portray his pompous attitude. There were rumors that his autobiography "I Am Zlatan" had quotes which were never said by him. However, it was he who approved those quotes and the fact that Mario Balotelli can be considered as poor man's Zlatan just emphasizes the personality that he is.

On Tuesday, Zlatan single handedly (according to him) destroyed Denmark. However, more than his two goals that sent Sweden to next year's Euros, it was his statement after the game that attracted more attention. He said "They (Denmark) tried to send me to retirement, instead I sent their whole nation into retirement".

The fact that this statement would draw more attention than the spectacular free kick he scored in the same game could be regarded as a disappointment. However, Zlatan being Zlatan would not mind it one bit. In his entire career, although his feet have done most of the talking, he makes sure it is his talking off the pitch that steals the thunder.

His glamorous career unfortunately still does not possess the Champions League, World Cup or the Euros. But the chances of him winning the Euros next year with Sweden is quite slim. However, considering the fact that he felt the 2014 World Cup would be boring without him and the enigma that he is, Euro 2016 certainly promises to be entertaining with him in it.

Angel Di Maria says he is happy to be competing back in the Champions league after his move from Manchester United to PSG.

Angel di Maria
Di Maria moved to Manchester United last summer for £59.7 million, a British transfer record fee. But he suffered a difficult time there despite impressing in his first few appearances for the Old Trafford club.

Di Maria's relationship with Louis Van Gaal worsened as the season progressed and the Argentine was constantly played out of position. His sending off against Arsenal in the FA Cup tie worsened the situation and he was benched a lot after that incident.

Di Maria finally moved out of Manchester this summer after missing United's pre-season friendlies. But the winger is settling well into his new club and is enjoying playing in the Champions league again, even scoring a goal in his return to the competition.

Speaking to UEFA.com, he said that he missed playing in the UCL a lot.

He said that last year was pretty difficult for him as he could not play and his injury was really complicated. He added that not being able to compete in the UCL after having won it made it a pretty tough time for him.

He is also settling well at Paris. Speaking about it he said that it is really nice at PSG. He trains every day with a smile on his face and is happy to be there. His family is also feeling very good there from the first day they arrived and that makes it a lot easier for di Maria to focus on football.

Di Maria awaits a return back to Santiago Bernabeu when PSG face Real Madrid in the group stage of UCL this season, but insists that he will not celebrate if he scores.

According to Daily Mirror, Bayern Munich are eager to sign Angel Di Maria from Manchester United. The Red Devils are not willing to sell the player despite his poor season but could be interested if Bayern are willing to meet his record fee of £59.7 million.

Angel Di Maria
French champions PSG are also interested in signing the player but their hands could be tighten due to the FFP restrictions.

Di Maria could be tempted to join Bayern Munich after the player managed to score just 4 goals in 32 games for United. The Argentine has struggled to settle down in England and could prefer to join former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola.

The 27-years-old was dropped by Louis van Gaal after his stupid red card against Arsenal in their FA Cup defeat in March. The United manager only brought him back for Sunday’s final game of the season at Hull when he was forced off injured.

A long time Arsenal and Manchester United target Edinson Cavani has hinted that his future may lie away from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Uruguayan hit-man has struggled for form this season and has scored just eight goals in 28 Ligue 1 outings.

Edinson Cavani
He was subbed-off after just 59 minutes of PSG's big derby with Marseille on Sunday and reports in France suggest that he has fallen out with manager Laurent Blanc.

Both Arsenal and United have been strongly linked with a move for Cavani and are said to be keeping close tabs on his situation in Paris.

Juventus are also another club who are understood to be ready to bid for the 28-year-old. Cavani became the most expensive player in French football history when he signed for PSG from Napoli for £55m in 2013.

Cavani also refused to rule out a move away when asked about his future after Sunday's game.

He told calciomercato.com that for now he thinks only to finish the season well and give his best for the club that pays him. He also stated that he is fine in Paris but in football you never know what can happen in the future.

Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas made a very cheeky comment after a lengthy question from a French journalist in Chelsea's pre-match press conference ahead of their PSG Champions League tie tonight.

Cesc Fabregas during the pre-match press conference ahead of their PSG Champions League tie
The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder listened calmly, agreed along to the question and then cut off his translator as he started to translate the question for him in English.

He said "Je parle Francais, mon ami", which means that he can speak French.

The translator had to stop for a moment as the play-maker broke out into a grin before giving up on the charade saying that he was joking.
