Crystal Palace were left regretting their missed opportunities and lapses in concentration as a rampant City put three past them. Yaya Toure was the heart of the home side's dominance as he nailed the final nail in the visitors’ coffin. David Silva scored two goals, one assisted by Man of the Match Pablo Zabaleta who was sublime. Palace sitting back to defend, allowed the Argentine to push forward frequently. He could have grabbed a couple but was not clinical in front of goal.

Manchester City 3-0 Crystal Palace
Sharing the top spot with Chelsea, Man City and back at their best. .The Citizens, with their sixth win in a row, are now looking much more like the champions of last season. The chase is on, with Chelsea facing a tough Stoke City side on Monday! Southampton ended their rot, as they managed to beat a hapless and poor Everton side. The Saints fired in three goals, including an own goal from visiting striker Romelu Lukaku. The win now sees the Saints just three points ahead of an Arsenal side who will visit Liverpool in Super Sunday. Everton lie in mid table as their inconsistency continues to derail their progress this season.

They just cannot find their feet away from home, but at Loftus Road you dare not dream. For the QPR is a dangerous animal. It plays as though wounded from their away defeats. A hat trick for Charlie Austin who is proving prolific and has played a hand in 11 of their goals (9 goals, 2 assists) in his last nine appearances for the London side. Form forward. Will their home form be enough to keep them out the drop zone? At this rate they look set for a spell in the Premier League next season as rivals Hull lost to Swansea for a tenth game without a win. A streak that could see Steve Bruce sacked as the side battle relegation. Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Burnley join the relegation battle as their managers continue to feel the heat. Nigel Pearson another under the knife seems to be running out of ideas as the side has lost all the vigor and early season confidence. As West Ham, who find themselves in unfamiliar territories continue to roll on as England internationals Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing scored both goals. They lay just one point behind Manchester United who are third. United drew to a Villa side that could easily had won the game had it not been for a contentious red card for Gabriel Agbonlahor and a horrible last minute decision by Bacuna who failed to find an unmarked Christian Benteke. Young England forward Harry Kane continues to impress as he bagged another goal which helped Tottenham win 2-1. The Premier League top scorer charts sees an unfamiliar trend as two Englishmen grace it in Saido Berahino(7) and Charlie Austin (11).

Goal of the day: Erik Lamela (His first Premier league strike)

Chelsea cruised to a comfortable win over Sporting Lisbon and now set sights on a hapless Hull side that is on a serious free fall Chelsea haven't lost to Hull in ten games and will look to bounce back from their St James hiccup.  Back in the Stamford Bridge side's line up will be Nemanja Matic who will look to continue his own unbeaten run in the league while Petr Cech gets his first start of the year. Mourinho will need his charges to get a positive result as Manchester City are now within three points pf top spot. What may worry the Portuguese master is the form or sudden drought of Diego Costa's goals. Could this be a Mesut Ozil scenario? Is the league's toll finally hitting the striker?

Chelsea vs Hull City
Hull are underwhelming underdogs and will be up against it. Hull have one win in their last 14 and that poor run seems will continue at the Bridge. A Hull loss would leave the side in a relegation scrap as Bruce aims to better last season's 16th finish. Hull can take courage from how Sunderland and Newcastle have played against the champions in waiting. Only Leicester City are worse off on the form guide in the whole division.  Another positive is gaining four draws on their last six away games. This game could spell further misery for the Tigers. They will need to be on their A game and try salvage a result. A good starting point will be the absence of Cesc Fabregas the assist master in England.

Key Players:

Alan McGregor- The shot stopper was in inspired form in the last match day and managed to stop Graham Dorrans' penalty. He is key figure for a side which is struggling for any positives including a porous defense.

Petr Cech- The Czech Republic international and Chelsea legend is set to get his first start this season. Will be expecting to have a rather quiet game but will key when he is needed.

People will tell you that there's no value on deadline day, that you have to overpay if you panic buy, that leaving it late is dangerous, but Steve Bruce has dispelled these myths. Hull pulled off no less than four last minute signings, all of which improve the depth and quality of the squad; for a combined fee of less than the price of Danny Welbeck.

Hull signed Abel Hernandez, an extremely fast and highly rated striker with a record that isn't that impressive, but it's not dissimilar to Shane Long's who was slightly more expensive despite being 3 years older. Hernandez does have a good International record, scoring 7 in 14 appearances, as well as an impressive season last season, so it appears that he is still improving and should be a good replacement for Long. He is extremely quick and willing to run in behind the defence, which should be a great combination with fellow Uruguayan Gaston Ramirez, who joined on a season long loan after failing to lock down a starting place at Southampton. Ramirez is an extremely talented player who had been chased for a while by top European teams before signing for Southampton, but he's not quite settled in. He could be an absolute steal for Hull should he display the talent that was so clear 2 years ago. He's still young and this could be a huge season for the attacking midfielder who will add flair and creativity to a team which sometimes struggle to break down the more organised sides in the league.

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Hatem Ben Arfa turned down the offer of joining relegation threatened Birmingham City in the Championship. To the surprise of a few people, however, he accepted the chance to prove himself under Steve Bruce at Hull. Newcastle fans bemoan the decision to let go the enigmatic winger go, blaming Pardew for not getting the best out of him and I have to say it is a bizarre decision, as Ben Arfa is a wonderfully talented if mercurial player capable of carving open even the best of defences on his day. Touted as a player who could not only somebody who could be a target for PSG or Liverpool but someone who could be a potential Ballon D'or winner, Hull have an amazing talent on their hands that if they can control, can propel them onto the next level.

Finally on deadline day, Hull signed the talented Mo Diame from West Ham for £3.5 million pounds. Diame is another talent who is plagued with inconsistency, but Bruce will fancy himself as a good man manager who can get the best out of the players who previously were inconsistent. Diame is a player who doesn't fit the archetype of an African defensive midfielder - he is strong and powerful, but his game is based on his ball-carrying skills and attacking skills, rather than pure physicality and defensive strength. On his day he controls games in a way that Yaya Toure does, but on a smaller scale and not as consistently, but he could excel alongside the talented Huddlestone and the energetic and tenacious Livermore who will provide him with support.

In summary, Hull have signed some unbelievably talented players who may have not quite shown their skill quite yet, but they will be hoping that they can get the best out of them. Diame, Ben Arfa and Ramirez could all unbelievable coups for Hull if they work, whereas Hernandez could be a superb addition to an otherwise threadbare front line. Hull appeared to have contradicted the cliché that there's no value on deadline day and broken all the rules.
