Preview: FC Koln vs Borussia Dortmund
Peter Stoger's FC Koln host Borussia Dortmund at Rhein Energy Stadium on Saturday in what is supposed to be a routine Bundesliga clash. Dortmund and Koln sit at 2nd and 11th position respectively, with a massive 17 points gap between them.
Koln have scored only 16 goals in Bundesliga, the third worst in Germany, jointly with Werder Bremen. Their talisman, Anthony Modeste has a good run so far and has scored 6 goals in the league.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund under their new coach Thomas Tuchel, are scoring whenever they want. They have scored 46 goals from 16 games, one more than Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich. Aubameyang of Dortmund is the leading top scorer in Germany with 18 goals. Despite the awesome scoring charts, Borussia have lost twice, thus lagging behind Bayern in title race by 5 points.
Dortmund will be adamant to put on an emphatic display, and are sure favorites to win this game, although Koln being the under-dogs will try to cheer up their home fans.
