Sunderland have signed former Arsenal right back Emmanuel Eboue for the rest of the campaign.

Sunderland have signed Emmanuel Eboué on a free transfer until the end of the season.
The former Ivory Coast International has been training with the squad for few weeks and Sam Allardyce believes the 32 year old can help their cause in the Premier league.

The Black Cats are currently fighting a relegation battle and former West Ham manager Allardyce believes that the experience of Eboue in the Champions league and Premier league will certainly help the team to fight off relegation.

Eboue, who has played for around six and half seasons with Arsenal, was let go by Galatasaray last summer. He impressed Allardyce in the trials and the Sunderland manager stated that Eboue is a terrific player and his fitness should certainly be enough for him to be a success in the Premier league.

After the shambolic tenure under Dick Advocaat, Sunderland looks to have a good chance under Allardyce, who specializes in relegation battles. Their next match would be against fierce rivals and fellow relegation strugglers Newcastle United on March 20.
