Rumour: West Ham to try to sign Phil Bardsley in this summer

According to Daily Mirror, West Ham are trying to sign 28 years old Sunderland full-back Phil Bardsley.

Bardsley will out of contract this summer and could leave Sunderland if they are relegated from the Premier League.

Bardsley would have to take a 40 per cent pay cut to stay at Sunderland if he still plans to stay after relegation scenario.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is hoping to sing him of for free so that Bardsley could be offered a lucrative contract and signing-on fee.
