National Glory : Still a Dream For Cristiano

Cristiano Ronaldo in action for Portugal
Cristiano Ronaldo, The World Player of the Year has achieved everything that is there to be achieved on the club level but National glory is still a dream for him. The 2014 FIFA World Cup was a golden opportunity for the 29 Year old Portuguese star to shut the mouth of his haters but unfortunately this time his health overshadowed his ability and he missed the chance.

Not only his health but his team was not clinical enough to end the trophy drought for their country. It has been a very long time when we last saw the fit and unstoppable Ronaldo before he got injured this year. But now when his country and he himself needed the best player on the planet to rise again he rather seemed exhausted and failed to deliver.

Cristiano has a goal rate of more than one goal per game for Real Madrid but surprisingly when it comes to national team the goal rate is about half goal per match. Probably The 2018 world cup will be the last world cup for him but at that time it will be difficult for a 33 year old man to continue as best player. So if Ronaldo has to prove his metal on National level too then probably the coming Euro Cup is the last and best chance for him.
