Colombia's World Cup star James Rodriguez has completed his switch from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco to Champions League winners Real Madrid. He becomes the second summer signing of the Madrid based club, following the footsteps of Toni Kroos into the Bernabeu.
DONE DEAL: Rodriguez has completed his move to Real Madrid |
The Colombian international caught the eye of many big named clubs including Paris Saint-German and long time admirers Manchester United, but it seems Florentino Perez was the only one willing to match Monaco's €80 million valuation.
Rodriguez signed a six year contract with the historic outfit, as Perez continues to add big names to Real Madrid's already star studded squad.
It will be interesting to see how James performs in La Liga, after he has already proven his talent with Porto and Monaco in Ligue 1. It is a massive step forward for the young winger.
Everyone has divided opinions over the Golden Ball winner, but it remains to be seen if he will live up to his price tag at the Santiago Bernabeu in the upcoming season.
