Minnesota Vikings running back
Adrian Peterson was indicted for injuring a child and had apparently admitted that he hit his 4-year-old with a switch, causing cuts and bruises.

Peterson reportedly told the police that he hit his son. According to a report, Peterson said he did it to punish the child for pushing another child while playing a video game. The report says Peterson took a branch of a tree, removed the leaves and hit the 4-year-old repeatedly.
According to reports, the injuries were cuts and bruises on the child's back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, besides injuries to the child's hands. Peterson also sent a message to the child's mother and acknowledged that what he had done was wrong.
The boy told the authorities: "Dad Peterson hit me in the face" and said he feared that Peterson would punch him if the police found out about the incident.
The boy's mother reportedly took him to a doctor, who reported injuries to the authorities, saying they were consistent with child abuse.

The Vikings have announced that Peterson will not play on Sunday against the
Patriots.
