Chelsea FC: The Unstoppable Force

Chelsea FC new signings Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa
6 games, 16 points and a goal difference of +12. Chelsea have had an almost immaculate start to the campaign, and don't seem like they'll slip up any time soon. With a vast amount of world class talent at their disposal, Chelsea seem as if they know the Premier League is theirs to lose. After a 1-1 draw at the home of the champions, followed by a 3-0 home victory against Villa, Chelsea have already created a 3 point lead against second placed Southampton and five on title rivals Manchester City.

A key factor to Chelsea's early dominance is the signing of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid. The Spanish (although Brazilian born) striker has already netted in 8 goals in his first 6 Premier League matches. A major problem for Chelsea in the last campaign was the absence of a clinical dominant striker, to turn chances into goals. For £32million Chelsea seemed to have bagged themselves the final piece to their puzzle, and now look like the team to fear. Accompanied by a solid and consistent defense (along with the addition of goalkeeper Courtois) a strong, talented, quick and creative midfield, it really seems like Mourinho's little horse has grown into a championship winning stallion.

Furthermore, Chelsea should be considered serious favorites for the Champions League this year. For the first time in quite a few years, it looks like an English outfit is likely to lift the most prestigious club trophy. This season, Chelsea seem to have a team as complete (if not more than) as the European Champions Real Madrid, Spanish club FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich, aka the regular favorites. However, it must be said that it is still early doors in the season and many things can happen that may halt Chelsea's spectacular run of form.

All in all, the 14/15 Season is one that Chelsea fans can be excited for, and allow their optimism and minds to run wild. With a team that boasts at least two world class players in every position, is there a team around that can stop the title favorites? Not forgetting that Chelsea have arguably the best manager in the world in Jose Mourinho at the helm. This could potentially be their most successful season in their history.
