Wenger asks for patience with Welbeck

Arsene Wenger has called for patience with former Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck . Arsenal's French coach believes that the striker, who arrived to Emirates stadium this summer, needs time to adapt.

Welbeck, who joined Arsenal for 20 million Euros, was unable to convert easy chances last night as the Gunners lost 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund in their opening match of the group stage of the Champions League. He also failed to score one on one.

It was a similar thing he did just three days after losing to Manchester City (2-2) in his Arsenal debut.

"Welbeck will improve, do not worry about that. He was very active in the first half and had two or three good chances but could not finish them. It is very necessary to be patient with him."
