Analysis of the Top Four in EPL

It has been an interesting start to the Premier League this year! Certainly a weird start to it as Clubs who were predicted to stay in the top four have dropped while others are shining!

EPL
English Premier League
Chelsea: The summer transfer window has proved successful for Chelsea as their new signings have made a huge impact on their team. Their first signing was Cesc Fabregas from FC Barcelona. The former Arsenal midfielder has proven to be a valuable player for his new club as he has eleven assists and one goal in only fifteen appearances. He is currently the player with the most assists in the Premier League. In July, Diego Costa, the former Atletico Madrid, signed for Chelsea for thirty-two million pounds. In twelve appearances he has scored eleven goals, one of the top-scoring strikers in the premier league at the moment. Chelsea is currently top of the league with thirty-six points from only fifteen games.

Manchester United: It was no secret that Manchester United needed to improve from last season as they ended seventh and did not qualify for Champions League. In their efforts to improve, United signed quality players in the summer including Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria. United are now third in the League and are improving daily due to those summer signings, and physical fitness of Van Persie, among other things. Angel Di Maria has proved to be their most valuable player lately as he has scored three goals, had six assists in only eleven appearances. The future looks bright for Manchester United.

Manchester City: Last year’s Premier League winners are in the race for their second consecutive win! With thirty-three points in only fifteen matches, Manchester City is only behind Chelsea. Sergio Aguero has played such a crucial role in the team’s success. In thirteen appearances, Aguero has scored fourteen goals and has three assists. He is currently the top-scorer of the premier league. However, unfortunately Aguero is once again injured and is expected to miss a minimum of four weeks due to knee issues. The task of scoring goals is now left to Nasri, as he has made a comeback after an injury. Manchester City still has a chance to overtake Chelsea.

West Ham: A weird appearance in the top four, West Ham wasn’t expected to make top four after last season. West Ham United finished thirteenth last season with forty points from thirty-eight games. This season, however, things are different! They have gained twenty-seven points from fifteen games. Sakho currently holds the position for most goals scored for the club, followed by Valencia with three goals, and Cole and Downing both with two goals each. It has been an incredible season for West Ham thus far.
