Defoe has already agreed a £14 million deal to return to English football with the Black Cats “and the former England star could make his Sunderland debut on Saturday — at old club Tottenham.” - The Sun
My View: This move isn't all too big of surprise since Defoe has been linked with a move back to England, for the past few months now. Sunderland have only netted 18 gold this season, so with Jozy Altidore also being included in the move (as a swap) it seems like the deal could benefit both clubs involved.
Arsenal remain confident of agreeing a deal for Legia Warsaw midfielder Krystian Bielik, 17, despite Hamburg emerging as major rivals for his signature. - London's Evening Standard
My view: Bielik is most likely to sign for the FA Cup champions that for Hamburg you'd expect. With manager Arsene Wenger known for believing in youth, the 17-year-old may feel a move to London would be a giant leap in his very early career. He may not be the player Arsenal need right now, but certainly suits the type of player they always get.
“Lavezzi could finally arrive at Anfield for a measly £8m with PSG looking to offload the 29-year-old in January. The Ligue 1 giants are aiming to improve their Financial Fair Play situation by reducing their wage bill, with Lavezzi on a sizeable salary of £3.5m per season.” - The Express
My view: Liverpool of late have been struggling to find goals and conceding too many at one end. Although signing Lavezzi would please the fans, a marquee defender is probably what they need. This is especially since Sturridge is due to come back from injury soon and Sterling from his holiday break.
