The Slovak footballer has won 75 caps for his nation to date and has been one of the most highly-rated and complete midfielders around for several years. It is time that he may feel for a new challenge now.
The 27-year-old is blessed with superb technique and a terrific work-ethic with a decent goal return from the middle of the park, which makes Hamsik look like an ideal replacement for Gerrard. He is somewhat similar to Henderson in style, but he is surely superior to the current Reds vice-captain when it comes to creativity and influence.
Whether Hamsik is willing to leave the club he has spent almost a decade at remains to be seen, but he ticks every box in terms of experience, class and attainability.
