5. Ralph Milne

Although Bryan Robson was worthy of wearing the number 7 jersey at Old Trafford throughout the 80s and early 90s, but a series of injuries made several less talented players get a chance to fill his boots and number seven jersey.

Scottish winger Ralph Milne signed for United from Third Division Bristol City for £150,000 and got to wear the jersey. However, Milne's off-field problems made him one of the worst signing ever.
