Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren was stretchered off at the end of the Premier League game against West Brom on Monday night. However, the primary scans revealed that the injury is not as worse as it was considered at first inspection.
Lovren played 80 minutes of the game against the Baggies before falling to a bad tackle from Craig Gardner. The impact was heavy and the Croatian international was carried off from the ground to the treatment table. The bad tackle from West Brom player evoked fury in Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, who had heated exchanges with West Brom's staff members.
In the first look, it was suspected that Lovren’s knee ligament was damaged, only to be clarified later that it had not. Lovren and Liverpool will be relieved to hear that the absence will not be as long they had anticipated.
Lovren has already stayed off the pitch for a long period in this season, due to the injury he picked up during the League cup.
