The fixture of Watford against City at the start of the campaign will see the Premier league newcomers facing title challengers.
However, a lot has happened in this season and mid way through this campaign, it would not be wrong for Pellegrini to feel that this game would be one of several difficult ones that City still have to play in the league.
City played out a dull draw against Leicester the last time out and to be fair it was not a bad point against a team who have just lost twice in the league. However, their closest title challengers Arsenal have leapfrogged them and it is important that City stay within touching distance with a good result against Watford. They do not have to go too far to know the trouble Watford can cause to the big teams.
Chelsea were held to a draw at Stamford Bridge and Tottenham had to battle out with a late victory at Vicarage Road in the last two games involving the Hornets. City will certainly be boosted by the arrival of Aguero but they would have to be more wary of the striking duo of their opponents. In Ighalo and Deeney, Watford possess the league's in form strike partnership. Watford would certainly like to bounce back from their late defeat to Tottenham and will surely make things difficult for a City side who won against them in August earlier in the campaign.
Watford would be without the services of Nathan Ake, who was sent off against Spurs in the last game. Behrami would be expected to start the game against City with Holebas most likely to come in for Ake. City would most likely start with Aguero with Bony relegated to the bench. They would, though, once again miss the presence of their talisman Kompany at the back.
Watford Starting 11:
Gomes, Cathcart, Britos, Anya, Holebas, Jurado, Capoue, Behrami, Abdi, Ighalo, Deeney
Manchester City Starting 11:
Hart, Sagna, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Toure, Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling, Aguero
Predicted Score:
Watford 2-2 Manchester City
