It seems that Chelsea fans would need to wait a little longer with Chelsea Interim manager Guus Hiddink stating that Alexandre Pato would not be available for the game against Manchester United.
The Brazilian joined the Blues from Corinthians earlier in the January Transfer window but has not yet featured for the Premier League champions.
Chelsea played the FA cup game against MK Dons and the premier league game against Watford after the signing of Pato. However, Hiddink stated that the striker is still in his pre-season and he is currently undergoing rigorous training sessions.
Pato was expected to be at least on the bench against United on Sunday but one of the major reasons that Hiddink is taking his time with respect to the former AC Milan striker is may be to let him come to terms with the requirements of the fast paced Premier league.
The striker also has a history pertinent to injuries and it would not be a bad idea if Hiddink does not rush the Brazilian.
Pato would also find it difficult to break into the starting lineup with first choice striker Diego Costa rejuvenated under Hiddink. Hence, with the striker only on a loan, Hiddink needs to make sure he gives the Brazilian enough opportunities to prove himself at the club.
