The Chinese Super League has been very much in the news with respect to the January transfer window. Jiangsu Suning, in particular, has been making the headlines pertinent to the recruitment of European players at enormous transfer fees.
Now, it seems, another Chinese club is set to make some similar moves. Shanghai Shenhua, who earlier signed former Chelsea strikers Demba Ba and Didier Drogba, have made a move for current Chelsea forward Loic Remy.
The France International has been out of favor with respect to Chelsea Interim manager Hiddink's plans and he was reported to be moving away from Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window. Leicester City and Newcastle were among the Premier league clubs interested in Remy. However, no deal was completed for the former QPR striker.
The Chinese League transfer window is still open for the next two weeks and the possibility of Remy moving to Shanghai Shenhua is very much on the cards. The offer made by the Chinese club is reported to be around £11 million and it certainly matches the valuation of Chelsea.
With Alexandre Pat coming in to the squad, it would be even difficult for Remy to get any playing time, Hence, it would not be a surprise if the former Newcastle striker makes a move away to China wherein it has been reported that he could earn around £5.5 million per season.
