Barcelona are no longer interested in Stones

It seems Barcelona have ended their interest in Everton defender John Stones. According to reports, it has nothing to do with the transfer fee demanded by Everton or the wages demanded by the player, it it has more to do with the personality of the young English defender.

Stones has been regarded as a defender who has the ability to bring the ball out from the back, a quality which certainly suits the style of Barcelona.

However, it seems that the Catalans enquired in detail about the personality trait of the 21 year old and believe that the promising centre-back may not be able to adjust to the culture of the club and the style of La Liga.

They have doubts regarding the temperament of the former Barnsley defender and believe that it is best if they ended their pursuit of the Everton defender's signature. This decision of Barcelona would certainly be good news for the Premier league clubs.

Chelsea were very heavily linked with the 21 year old last summer. With Everton struggling under Martinez in the Premier league and the likes of Manchester United also joining the race for the young defender, it may not be a surprise to see Stones moving away from Everton at the end of the season.
