Bonucci tracked by City and Chelsea

It seems Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is very much in demand and is being tracked by both Manchester City and Chelsea.

Current Italy manager Antonio Conte, who is heavily tipped to be the next Chelsea manger, is a huge fan of Bonucci and has got the permission of bringing the defender to Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea won’t have it easy since Pep Guardiola, who would be taking over the reigns at City next season, highly regards the 28 year old Juventus defender.

Guardiola is expected to start work at City on July 1 and is expected to make the move for Bonucci as early as possible. On the other hand, Conte may still be on duty with Italy at the Euros and there is a good chance that Bonucci may be snapped up by City by the time Conte joins Chelsea.

Both Chelsea and City have faced defensive issues this season and are looking for a reliable defender next season. Chelsea would be looking to replace the departing Terry and City are on the lookout for a reliable partner to Kompany.

Either ways, it seems Bonucci may very well be the first summer signing of one of these managers.
