Leicester City are currently enjoying their best campaign in this Premier league season. They are currently two points ahead of Tottenham, who won against Aston Villa in the weekend, with a game in hand.
However, their manager Claudio Ranieri insists that he is focused on Leicester City earning a Europa League place. For a team that is currently leading by two points with a game in hand and having a great chance to earn their maiden Premier league title, Ranieri's views may seem to be pessimistic.
It may be because the Italian does not want his players to feel the pressure of a title challenger and if one observes, a Europa league place for a team like Leicester who barely managed to stay up in the Premier league last season is an astonishing achievement.
Ranieri stated that he is now focused on Newcastle and then Crystal Palace would be his next focus. He is taking it game by game and he believes if he has a five point lead with only one game to go then he would believe that they are champions.
He also stated that once they achieve a Europa league place, they would then focus on winning that Champions league spot, but with his other challengers dropping points, it only feels a matter of time that they achieve it.
