It seems Manchester City have landed one of their prime targets for this summer in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
Gundogan has been recently plagued with injuries, but not before being a key player for Dortmund over the past few seasons. City were interested in pay around £28 million for the midfielder but it seems the German Club wanted around £34 million for the player.
However, it seems the Citizens have offered around 30 million for the 25 year old and believe Dortmund have accepted the transfer fee for the German. Both Incoming manager Pep Guardiola and football director Txiki Begiristain were very keen on the transfer to go through after meeting with Gundogan.
It seems the announcement with respect to the transfer will be made at the end of the season. The addition of the German midfielder would certainly boost the City line up given the imminent departure of Yaya Toure. City are very much keen to bring down the average age of the team and the addition of Gundogan would certainly help in that respect.
