Chelsea consider future transfer agreement in ‘optimistic’ Haaland pursuit — report.

Chelsea have opened discussions over a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland despite an acceptance it could prove difficult to achieve, according to the Daily Mail.

Haaland, 20, is under contract at Dortmund until 2024 but has a reported €75m (£66m) release clause, which comes into effect in the summer of 2022.

The Norway international has developed into one of the world's most prolific forwards scoring 41 goals in 41 games in all competitions for Dortmund since joining from Red Bull Salzburg for just £17m at the end of 2019.

According to the report, Dortmund have stated they do not wish to sell their coveted centre forward this summer but the ambitious Haaland is open to taking the next step up in his career.

The Mail claim Chelsea have players who could be offered in negotiations including £40m-rated Tammy Abraham and his name has been raised in initial talks.
