Laporte has
had a fine career at City but is no longer an automatic starter in Pep
Guardiola’s side, so it could make sense that he soon moves on in pursuit
of more playing time.
Relations between Manchester City and Barcelona were not good during Bartomeu's tenure. Things have changed with the arrival of Joan Laporta, who signed Txiki Begiristain , current football director of the English team, in June 2003 to lead the Blaugrana sports management.
