France: Deadline Day Transfers

It was mostly out going transfers on deadline day in Ligue 1,but there was a couple of incoming ones.

Obviously the biggest deal was Raddamel Falcao's move from AS Monaco to Manchester United on a year-long with an option to buy.Falcao now joins Loouis Van Gaal's revolution at old Trafford.

Marseille signed 19 year-old centre-back Doria (pictured, above) from Brazilian club Botafogo for £4.4m. He's a Brazil International, who's played over 60 games for Botafogo and is very highly regarded.


Also arriving was 20 year-old striker Michael Frey, who joined Lille in a £2.64m deal from Swiss side Young Boys. He's 6ft 2in tall, and scored 14 goals over two seasons in Switzerland. He is also an U-21 International.



It was a case of one Yatabare in and one Yatabare out at Giungamp, as midfielder Sambou joined from Olympiacos on loan, while striker Mustapha left to join Vahid Halilhodzic at Trabzonspor for a fee if £2.2m.

Bastia signed striker Benjamin Mokulu Tembe from Belgian Pro League side KV Mechelen on a year long loan. They have also brought in a second striker in PSG youngster Hervin Ongenda, also on loan. Ongenda has played International youth football for France at all levels from U-16 to U-21.


Benjamin Stambouli has left Montpelier and moved to the Premier League, where he has joined Tottenham Hotspur for just over £5m.



Lorient lost centre-back Bruno Ecuele Manga to English Championship side Cardiff City for £5.5m.



Rennes have signed striker Habib Habibou of the Central African Republic from KAA Gent on a three-year deal.



Centre-back Nicolas Isimat-Mirin has also left AS Monaco, joining Eredivisie side PSV on loan until the end of the season.
