UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE XI (Group Stages)

Here are some of my top performers for the 2014/2015 Champions League Group Stage. The toughest area to pick having been the defense. This is the XI : (3-4-3)

MIGUEL ANGEL MOYA (At Madrid)

Five clean sheets and a pillar for his side has seen the Spaniard keep 5 clean sheets in the process. He has stepped up into the big shoes left by Courtois!

DIEGO GODIN (At Madrid)

The Uruguay international has been one of the best in the world and continues to display his quality. He was paramount in Atleticos' top spot finish!

FABINHO (Monaco)

The best defensive side in the competition.  The Brazilian' partnership with Ricardo Carvalho has been powerful and has seen AS Monaco concede just a solitary goal. The defender also added a vital goal at home to Zenit to seal qualification.

BRANISLAV IVANOVIC (Chelsea)

The Serbian hard man is a constant feature in the Chelsea back-line and has been another reason why their defense is rarely breached.  The quick, hard and intelligent defender makes the XI.

NEMANJA MATIC (Chelsea)

The best defensive midfielder in the world. The star of the Chelsea side. When he was missing they lost. The anchor. A reason why so little has been able to penetrate the Chelsea back four. A towering presence, physical and intellectually gifted.

KOKE (At Madrid)

The next Xavi they say. Pulled the sittings from midfield and managed to rope in four assists and a couple of goals.

CESC FABREGAS (Chelsea)

Barcelona must be wondering how they let him go as the Spanish maestro has been one of the reasons Chelsea have been on song. Adapting well to the defensive and Attacking roles.

THOMAS MULLER (Bayern Munich)

The most underrated player in the world. On match-day 6 the German star became Bayern's top goal scorer in Europe.  Muller has been the Bavaria's best player and was a key cog as the topped a tough group.

LUIS ADRIANO (Shakhtar Donetsk)

The top goal scorer with 9 goals. He even afforded the luxury to miss the last game as he fired his side into the Knockout stages. His master performances earned him a Brazil debut.

CRISTIANO RONALDO (Real Madrid)

Invisible at the moment. The Galacticos' talisman.  If Madrid are to defend their crown Cristiano must remain fit and keep scoring.  The best player in the world this year.

LEO MESSI (Barcelona)

The all time top goal scorer in European competition.  Leo Messi has been in fine form recently after slumping by his standards. He has 7 goals this year, so far.

Coach- Carlo Ancelotti
