If reports in Portugal are to be believed, Sporting Lisbon are keen on taking Arsenal forward Joel Campbell in a deal which would see defensive midfielder William Carvalho head to north London club.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claim that the Portuguese club would be willing to accept an offer of £22m for Carvalho, if Campbell was part of the offer.
Costa Rica international Campbell is currently on loan at Spanish side Villarreal and has made just four substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners since joining in August 2011. He did impress at the World Cup last summer though.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been a long-term admirer of Carvalho, who could be an ideal addition to shore up the Gunners' midfield. Wenger is likely to be willing to offload Campbell in exchange for the midfield powerhouse.
Carvalho has made 12 appearances for Portugal since making his debut against Sweden in a 2014 World Cup playoff qualifier and has also been linked with French side Monaco.
