The 73,000 capacity stadium is Italy's second largest stadium. It is home to fierce rivals A S Roma and S S Lazio.
The derby between these teams which is supposed to be the fiercest in Italian football, the Derby della Capitale, is held in this stadium. This stadium initially had a huge capacity of 100,000 but was later redesigned to make it an all-seater.
It is one of the best stadiums in Europe and has hosted four UEFA European finals, the last being the 2009 UEFA Champions league final where Barcelona beat Manchester United 2-0.
