Chelsea vs Norwich Preview

The match that would usually be considered a formality for Chelsea is not so much a formality in this disastrous premier league season. It is a rare sight to see both the clubs having gathered the same number of points in the last 6 matches. Chelsea, however, have a good record against the Canaries and are undefeated since 1994.However, this has been a season for them where history has counted very little.

Chelsea vs Norwich City
Chelsea:
Chelsea have lost their last three premier league matches. This is the first time it has happened since October 1999. Chelsea have lost three matches at home this season in the premier league. The fact that Mourinho does not think of an overhaul may be considered as an exaggeration given the situation. But there is no doubt that this match is a must win game for Mourinho and his men. A defeat on Saturday would have serious consequences especially considering the opposition and the fact that they are playing at home.

Ivanovic, who was sidelined for the last few matches ,may be brought back into the starting lineup. Chelsea do not have many injury concerns ahead of this game with only Falcao (muscle) and Courtois with a long term injury most likely to be absent.

Norwich:
Norwich come into this game with comparatively more confidence than Chelsea on the back of their impressive win against Swansea in the last game. They have not defeated Chelsea since 1994 and Alex Neil would not be wrong if he felt that this would be the right opportunity to change that record. With Matt Jarvis most likely absent and Redmond having mostly recovered from his thigh injury, Neil may be able to play his best possible 11.

Chelsea Probable Starting 11:

Begovic, Terry,Cahill,Ivanovic,Azpilicueta,Ramires,Matic,Fabregas,Willian,Hazard,Costa.

Norwich Probable Starting 11:

Ruddy,Bennett,Bassong,Olsson,Wisdom,Brady,Howson,Tettey,ONeil,Mulumbu,Jerome

Predicted Score: Chelsea 2-1 Norwich
