It seems Chelsea are interested in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka. The west London outfit has experienced a terrible season this time around and wants some freshness in their squad.
Xhaka's contract runs till 2019 which may deter most of the clubs. The player has interested other clubs like Bayern Munich and Arsenal with the club sporting director Max Eberl himself stating that an attractive price could force the club to part with their young midfielder.
However, since Xhaka still has more than three and half years left on his contract, the price reportedly being quoted is around £37 million. The player has made around 23 appearances for the club with three goals to his name. However, the temperament of the 23 year old has been in question with the young midfielder having already received three red cards this season.
Monchengladbach is concerned that the Swiss International may make a move in the summer with Xhaka himself admitting the fact that he may sign for a bigger club if he gets the required first team opportunities.
