Manchester United legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy has been appointed as the striker coach for Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. Nistelrooy, once a prolific striker during his days, has been given the task to coach the under 17s, the under 19s and reserves of the Dutch club.
Nistelrooy had joined Manchester United in 2001 from PSV. The striker had certain injury issues when he joined United, but later went to become a United great wherein he scored 150 goals for the club.
His United manager Sir Alex Ferguson always regarded him as a great goal scorer who knew how to find space in the opposition box. Although the Dutchman left the club in bad terms, he will always be remembered by the fans for his goal scoring exploits.
One of the recent stars that emerged out of PSV is Memphis Depay who incidentally also joined Nistelrooy's former club Manchester United in the summer.
Now, the former Holland International would be able to part similar knowledge to the young strikers of his former club PSV. Nistelrooy would now have to leave his position of assistant coach in Holland's International team.
The 39 year old stated that he is really looking forward to his new job and would help to maximize the potential of young attackers.
