The Star Sports platform of Star TV India would show Premier league matches for the next three seasons after they renewed their deal with respect to the broadcast of the Premier league matches.
It has been reported that the platform would broadcast 200 games on TV and the remaining 180 matches of the Premier league would be made available in the websites, StarSports.com and Hotstar.
Star Sports has certainly realized the importance and rise of football in the country and the same thought has been shared by Star India COO Sanjay Gupta who also stated about the strategy of the company to promote football within the country.
He also added that the English Premier league is the most viewed league in the world and with the recent renewal of the contract, along with the 15 years that Star Sports has already broadcasted Premier league games, delineates the faith of the company in the competition.
The deal which has been renewed would start from the 2016-17 season to the 2018-19 season. Apart from the Premier league, the Bundesliga and Indian Premier league are also broadcasted on the Star Sports network.
