It very much seems that former Derby County manager Steve McClaren's days are numbered at Newcastle. The latest home defeat at the hands of Bournemouth has increased the already present discontent within the Newcastle fans.
It has been reported that David Moyes is very much in the running for the post. The Scot is currently out of work after being sacked by Real Sociedad and it seems that his return to the Premier league is inevitable.
The former Everton manager is also keen to take over at St. James' Park if McClaren indeed does get the sack. However, the former Manchester United is not happy with the current managerial model being adopted at Newcastle.
Moyes would like to be the manager rather than the head coach at Newcastle. McClaren is currently the head coach with Graham Carr, the chief scout of the transfer committee. Moyes would certainly like to prove his critics wrong after bad spells at Manchester United and Real Sociedad.
However, replacing former England manager McClaren would certainly be easier than replacing his mentor Sir Alex Ferguson.
