Michael Owen was considered as one of the biggest sensations of his country at an early age of 17. The former England International was one of Liverpool's best strikers. Having signed for the club in 1996, Owen had a brilliant goal scoring record for the club.
However, injuries took a toll on the star striker and his decision to join Real Madrid in 2004 certainly turned into disaster. He left the Bernabeu in one year and then joined Newcastle. However, Owen created controversy when he joined United in 2009 and that decision certainly reduced his adulation at Anfield.
