All time worst Arsenal signings - 9

9. Nelson Vivas

Almost any transfer is a gamble. Just like life, football is also about taking risks.

Nelson Vivas
Back in 1998, Arsene Wenger signed former Argentine defender Nelson Vivas from FC Lugano for a £1.6 million fee.

Vivas cracked under pressure; he managed just 14 league appearances at Arsenal. Wenger signed Vivas as an effort to replace Lee Dixon, but the Argentine right-back was not a good fit for the Gunners.

Arsenal released Nelson Vivas in 1999.
