5. Jimmy Brain
Jimmy Brain signed for Arsenal from Ton Pentre in 1923 and went on to score 139 goals in 232 games in a span of 8 years. He was the first Arsenal player to score 100+ goals.
He later faced a tough competition from Jack Lambert and David Jack when his age started catching up with him and decided to sign for rivals Tottenham Hotspur in 1931. He signed for spurs for £2,500 in September 1931.
