Chelsea have been unbeaten in their last five games with
three victories and two draws. They have not lost under Hiddink and the record
should continue against a West Brom side that have shown recent signs of revival
themselves.
Chelsea certainly looked more like the title winning side
against Crystal Palace with the way they killed the game off after taking
the lead. Hiddink may have had a slow start to his second stint as a Chelsea manager but he would certainly be happy
with the progress the team is making.
The last game against Scunthorpe had its indecisive moments
but it finally ended on a comfortable note for the Premier league champions. They
are currently sitting 14th in the league and could move quite close
to the top half of the table with a win.
West Brom may be higher than Chelsea currently in the Premier
league table but Tony Pulis would know which team is more prone to a relegation
battle. After the Chelsea game, the
Baggies would be facing opponents in the lower half of the table in the next few games and Pulis will
certainly feel the importance of his side picking up points in those matches to avoid a tough end to the campaign.
Hiddink is currently facing a crisis situation in the
striker department. Falcao is out and Remy is doubtful while Costa is also
having a knee injury which may keep him out of this one. On the other hand for West Brom, Berahino may
make his first start since October although the striker has been rumored to be
going out of the club in this transfer window.
