The former Barcelona manager had earlier declared that he would like to manage in England next season after the end of his contract with Munich.  As a result, he has been chased by the top Premier league clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City. The pressure on Pellegrini has increased even more after the Guardiola statement since City have been termed as outright favorites for his signature.

May be the Spaniard has now realized the effect of his intentions and thereby apologized in an interview in a recent training camp of Bayern Munich in Qatar. Guardiola has been criticized from various quarters with respect to the handling of this managerial incident.

However, this particular situation has not been anything new for him. In the 2012-13 season, when Jupp Heynckes was the Bayern manager, the Spaniard was already declared as the manager for the German heavyweights for the 2013-2014 season inexplicably midway through the campaign.
