Tottenham vs Leicester City: Preview

Leicester City may still not be considered as one of the title challengers but certainly they have the capability to compete for a Champions League spot. If that is the case, this match will certainly be considered as a match of the top four hopefuls.

Tottenham vs Leicester City: Preview
It would be unfair to feel that Tottenham may not challenge for the title given the fact that they have performed quite well under Pochettino in this campaign courtesy a stubborn defence. However, Pochettino would realistically keep the champions league place as the bare minimum in this season.

These two teams would be playing each other thrice in the space of around ten days with Leicester being disappointed having not won the FA cup game at the weekend. The Foxes were quite close to clinching a memorable victory but a late controversial penalty converted by the in form Kane held them to a draw.

City would surely draw some inspiration from that game considering the fact that Ranieri had made around eight changes to the starting eleven. Tottenham would however fancy themselves at home with their star striker Kane in good form.

Ranieri expects top scorer Vardy to be featuring in this game having been rested at the weekend with Mahrez also returning to the starting lineup. Pochettino would have an almost full strength squad to choose from with Dele Alli likely to return to the starting lineup as well.

Probable Starting Lineups:

Tottenham Starting lineup:
Lloris, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Davies, Walker, Dier, Dembele,  Dele Alli, Kane, Eriksen, Lamela

Leicester City Starting lineup:
Schmeichel, Fuchs, Morgan, Simpson, Huth, Kante, Inler, Albrighton, Mahrez, Vardy, Okazaki

Predicted Score:
Tottenham 2-1 Leicester City
