Former Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira made headlines in the January transfer window when he moved to Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning for a mammoth £38 million.
Before the move to China took place, Teixeira was on the brink of coming to the Premier league and joining Liverpool. However, the move broke down because the Premier league club failed to match the valuation of £38 million put forward by Shakhtar Donetsk for their priced asset.

Teixeira decided to move to China to earn big money but his friend and former team mate Josef de Souza has stated that the Brazilian still keeps his dream of moving to the Premier league and play for Liverpool.
He stated that Teixeira was very keen to join the Premier league and he had talked with the forward when advanced negotiations were going on with Liverpool but was left to be disappointed when the move broke down.
Teixeira, who earlier stated that he wanted to join the Premier league in order to improve his chances of playing for the national team, inexplicably joined Jiangsu Suning. However, the move was supported by de Souza who added that sometimes it is important to earn money and the move made by Teixeira would be a good thing for his family.
